Results of Black Bean Eco-dying

A few weeks ago I boiled up some raw black beans and soaked a bit of fabric and threads.  Out of the dye bath the fabric came out very purple blueish (see below), but when dry, the color dulled to grayish.  I don't mind the subdued colors.  I used a variety of thread, including the tone-on-tone thread as a filler.
