The Ability To See Beauty

I just loved this endearing mother and daughter image the moment I saw it.  I altered a brass frame and cut the image to size.  I then softly colorized the roses in the photo.  I added a few of my ribbon roses to match the illustrated ones in the background.  I ran a strip of delicate lace along the bottom.  All the lace I use is vintage, this one being no exception.

The sentiment reads 'Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old'.  I also altered a brass flower basket and added it to the vignette of a tag, a snippet of Shabby Chic fabric sewn on a tag, embossed papers and three vintage Mother of Pearl baby buttons.
Slanted easel card
This card was once again inspired by the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.  I also entered my card at Classy Girl Musings.  The challenge is 'Anything goes with stitching'.  It's a lovely challenge blog and the prize is a whopping $50 gift certificate to Home and Garden Welcome, an online scrapbook store!  But we all know that it's not the prize that counts, but the fun we have creating, right?  ;)
